Airborn Gav & Hurricane “Work” = The right vibe

I was put together a mix set for episode 011 of “Soulphistication” and while browsing tracks I happened to click on this find.

At the point of seeing this track cover art, I had already been clicking through many pages in my attempt to hurry up and get my set recorded for my show, which streamed a few hours prior to me typing this. I almost went to the next page, but if I had already put in this much time I may as well listen to every track on the page. So I clicked play.

Airborn Gav and Hurricane “Work”, never heard of them. The drums didn’t catch my attention leading off, but the low tone vocals sort of chanting “work” held my attention. Then the the lead vocals kick in. I thought to myself, this song has a lot of swag. The vibe is one of someone who just smoked some top shelf and got into his zone. He had something to say and he delivers with a suaveness that I don’t think I’ve heard in the genre of house music. A little drip with a house twist and a little RnB slickness. This track would not have sounded the same without Airbon Gav’s accent.

Smooth and mello resonates throughout this entire production. The bass line moves this along at the right pace and the well placed keys just add a sprinkle of seasoning.

Not only did I feature this track in my latest mix set, but it’s been on repeat in my headphones for a while now.

Shout out to Atjazz on the remix hook up. As usual he brings that elegance to the house genre. A mature sound that removes the noise of the world and takes you to the place pictured in the music. Just like reading a book and the world in that book is being painted by the author.

This track was released 4/14/2023, but it appears that it was release as part of another project, then remixed. Be that as it may, if you’re a real deep house lover, do yourself a favor and go get this track. The perfect music for a long drive or just decompressing after a long day.
